Have you ever wondered why that particular wine ends up in your glass at that particular moment?

Picture the scene: Saturday evening, friends on the terrace, someone pulls out their phone and in twenty seconds orders exactly the wine they tasted at a tasting at Fragaria, or the one a friend first offered them. No middlemen, no waiting for someone to "have it in stock," no distributor deciding what will end up on the shelf of the nearest store. This is no longer a scene from the future. It's already happening, and it's changing the rules of the game for all of us in the wine business, including us at Fragaria.

Wine used to travel from vineyard to glass through a whole chain of intermediaries — importers, distributors, wholesalers, agencies. Today that chain is shortening month by month. Customers want wine directly from the producer, and honestly, that's an opportunity small family wineries like ours never had before. When someone wants our wine specifically — the Jagoda that carries the scent of summer in every glass, the Tamjanika from the gentle slopes of Poljana Lukarevina in Župa, the Votaži, our Merlot–Cabernet Sauvignon blend, or Prokupac, the native variety we're increasingly returning to — they no longer have to wonder whether they'll find it in the store next door. They can come straight to us, learn the story behind the label, and know exactly where that wine comes from.

If any of these names just made you thirsty, our wines are only a click away.

Wine fairs still remain a place where new acquaintances and new markets are born. There, wineries like Fragaria don't compete on labels alone, but on story — on what makes us different from a thousand other bottles at the same stand. And it's precisely there, amid that crowd, that small producers have an advantage that big systems can hardly copy: an authenticity you can taste from the very first sip.

Then there's the digital world, the place where today most decisions about what we'll drink are made, and made fast. The average person spends nearly an hour a day scrolling social media, and it's right there, between travel photos and lunch recipes, that a craving for a glass of wine you didn't even know you had is born. If a winery isn't there, at that moment, in the right place, with content that's genuinely interesting, it simply doesn't exist in that story. That's why at Fragaria we don't just talk about wine — we talk about the vineyard that grows it, the harvest, the people, everything that turns a bottle into a story worth remembering.

It's also interesting that the wine world today is split between two approaches: some build everything around a strong brand name, others around origin, around terroir. For us, there's no dilemma. We believe wine that carries true origin, true soil and true climate, ultimately always wins, because that authenticity simply can't be bought with a marketing budget.

Wine is, after all, a social product. It's born in moments of togetherness, and it sells best in exactly those moments — at a tasting, at a fair, in a conversation that continues on social media too. That's why every glass drunk with a story leads to a special experience.

All of this is being driven by a new generation of wine lovers — people who want to buy directly, who want to know where the wine comes from and who makes it. For us at Fragaria, that's not a threat, it's an invitation. An invitation to take you through our vineyard, introduce you to the story behind the label, and pour you a glass of wine you'll remember long after it's empty.

If this story reminds you that it's been too long since your last good tasting, or that one of these names would be perfect for your next get-together, our vineyard and cellar are open to you. We'll leave the rest to time, and to your glass.
